3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught, Dublin. Pours dark ochre, with beige and compact head, that eventually dissipates to quarter-finger deep. Nutty aroma of sweet malts, and something similar on the palate but with caramel notes. Put me in mind of Smithwicks, the Irish ale.

A nice dark lager from the Czech Republic. Tastes completely different to the very sweet Russia-brewed version.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2010 Very dark brown color, beige head; aroma of sweet caramel; mouthfeel is on the thin side with some carbonation desperately trying to hold it up; very sweet flavor of syrupy caramel with hints of maltiness, but apparently the sweetness is coming from somewhere else. Use of sweetener in a beer may sound scary, but if you´re in for the bottled candy you could choose a lot worse.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
0,5l bottle from Czech Republic. Clear, reddish brown colored beer with frothy, medium, light brown head, which dissipates slowly. Roasty odor. Delicious aroma with the identities of roasted malt. Toast, hay, light caramel and a little smoke. Dry taste, but after the first impressions some malty sweetness appears. Creamy texture, light body, average carbonation. A bit sweet aftertaste with roast and bread flavour. This beer has everything I expect from a Dark Lager! Perfect in its style. Clear and mature aroma and taste. Pure roasted malt flavour.
