Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, creamy tanned head, slowly diminishing to a small stable foamy layer; sweet-malty, toasted-malty nose; sweet-caramelly flavour, light bodied, soft MF; toasted, caramelly finish with a small chocolatey bitterness in the end. Hearty, easily drinkable Dunkel, a bit on the sweet side....

Dogbrick (9109) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 24, 2007
Pours dark brown with a reddish tint around the edges. Medium beige head with fair retention. Stringy lacing. Light roasted malt and bread in the nose, with touches of fruit. Medium (bordering thin at times) smooth body with sweet caramel malt flavor along with dry fruit and rye. The finish is short and fruity with a lingering sweetness. Solidly average Dunkel all around.

Nice looking 500ml bottle and label. Creamy, beige head over an appealing deep mahogany and scarlet gown. Dark malty aroma. Watery. Medium bodied. Brittle caramel flavour with grainy notes. More sweetness and some yeastiness in the finish. Becomes far too sweet half way through the glass.

(bottle) Clear, ruby brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, dark bread and a delicately hoppy touch. Moderately sweet and slightly roast-bitter flavour, light bodied but not watery with a smooth carbonation. Toasty malty taste with caramel, bread crusts and dark chocolate; dry-ish, roasty bitter finish with a subtle doughy acidity. Pleasant and rounded. 07.VI.10

500ml Bottle. Cool label. For czech dunkels it is a bit sweeter imo, despite the low abv. The roasty notes are there.

Bottle. Suprisingly light malt aroma for a dark beer. Coffee brown color. Light sweet coffee malt flavor with not the strongest of palates. A very enjoyable dunkel.

bottle. train rating. moderately creamy texture, overall pretty good for bottled dunkel but of course doesn’t match fresh draft anything. toffee, coffee cake, toast, all there but with an oily butter and metal note. taste some bottle and bottle cap in there.
