Draught. Hazy straw color, thin lacy head. Grainy malt aroma with fresh, ’milky’ yeast and dry grassy hops. Slightly sweet pils malt flavor, slightly doughy/breadt, yeasty and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Low herbal bitterness. Slightly fizzy carbonation. Fresh, good lager.

laiti (5574) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2014
Draught (5,3%) @ Black Door as ”Velkopopovicky Kozel Unfiltred”
Aroma is buttery with metal, grass and hints of honey. Flavour is rather metallic with some grass and diacetyl. Also some hay after some sips. Harsh and disappointing.

(Keg at Black Door, 20140523) The beer poured golden and cloudy. Its head was large and white. Aroma had grass, fruitiness and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, grain, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity, grassy and bitter. A tasty but a bit sweet pils.

jookos (2003) - FINLAND - MAY 22, 2014
Tap@blackdoor (as unfiltered kozel lager, 5.3). Yellow hazy. Pale soft light creamy golden malts, soft nice smooth body. Really love these fresh feeling unfiltered czechs, this being no exception. But compared to urquell, a tad bare, simple.

Quack-Duck (7779) - Down South, GERMANY - APR 6, 2012
draught at Kozlovna Praha-Smíchov ve Zborovské ulici. Hazy golden colour, large and creamy white head. Yeasty-malty aroma. Medium-bodied, solid malty base with a good yeasty touch, slightly fruity. Balanced by some nice aromatic hops. Definitely has more character than the unfiltered Kozel. It was delicious to accompany the delicious quality Czech food served here.

On tap at Kozlovna, Velké Popovice: Golden, cloudy, big stable creamy head; yeasty and malty nose; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft and light bodied; short creamy bitter-malty finish. The unfiltered 12° of Kozel, unfortunately nothing special....
