Has a smoothly bitter taste, a soft malt and hops scent and sparkles perfectly. This highly malted beer is considered to be an excellent lager both at home and abroad
This beer is also brewed at "Plzensky Prazdroj (SABMiller)" in Plzen, Czech Republic.

On tap in Telč:

The Lure:
Everlasting foam covers grain, bread and hay. All in all, this hardly smells anything.

The Festivities:
Minute hay and frail herbal hops make up a perfectly inoffensive, well-brewed, pilsener. Suggestions of bitterness appear through the feisty carbonation, which by the way helps the mouthfeel. Refreshing when cold, but this is filtered mass appeal. This is the white bread of beer; good with sandwiches but...

At festivities you can drop half your pint and not care much.

Pours a golden colour with a foamy head and a floral, grassy nose. Good carbonation with a bitter malt taste and a nice dry finish. I like the label, a goat enjoying a beer. Hey, if it’s good enough for the goat... (500ml bottle)

Bottle. Pours clear gold with thin white head. Balanced aroma of hops and malt. More malt flavors than most Czech pilsners, but balanced and somewhat dry. Tough to find on tap in Prague.

Bottled. Clear golden colour. Medium to small head. Grassy, sweet hoppiness in the nose. Lightly malty and medium sweet for a pilsner. Light to medium dry, hoppy finish. A good one.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Deep golden with a rather small head. Very soft and aromatic from the quality hops. Rather soft hoppiness. Nice full body with lots of malt-sweetness. Typical Czech premium.

Bottled, served at Standing Order (JDW) Derby. Good rounded maltiness, pleasent enough but nothing to fall out of bed for.

500ml brown bottle. Deep bright gold. Dense fluffy head. Light carbonation. Fresh malty aroma, touch of Euro hops. Flavour echos the aroma, malty and trace bitterness. Nice smoothness.

One of the better Czechs, albeit a bit hoppier than I really like. Good cold, even better when cold, out of a tap, in a bar in a backwater Czech industrial town (where I had it first)

Bottled. Deep golden colour, minor white head. Malty nose with hints of caramel. Wellbalanced flavour of sweet malt, caramel and hops. Bitterish and dry finish.

Light aroma that gets gradually worse. This is the third or fourth Bohemian in a row that looks exactly the same. I couldn’t tell you what make this "Premium" - it really isn’t better than most of the other Bohemian. Has a very dry finish. It’s style percentage rating is too high - the Staro- Bohemians are better.
