50cl can @ home. Clear golden color, full sized white head that disappears quickly and becomes small white lacing on top. Don’t smell much, only lightly malty. Taste malts, slightly yeasty, lightly bitter. Soft carbonation, low to medium body.

Aroma: light caramel malts, not much else really. Appearance: clear golden, medium frothy head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: some malty sweetness coming up, turning lightly bitter again, lively carbonation. Overall: boring Pilsener, very unremarkable. Pint at Via Via, Canary Wharf.

Based on notes from 031014. 500ml can, clear light yellow colour, medium frothy white mostly lasting head. Moderately malty aroma of cookie and cereal with light grassy hops. Taste is initally light bittersweet with a bit of acidity, turning into a mild bitter and acidic finish with a slightly astringent feel. Light to medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Quite a drinkable but fairly uninterestin Czech lager, a bit less sweet than the medium one from the same joint I reviewed the same night at the cost of milder aroma.

0,5l Flasche. Goldgelbes Bier mit schnell verschwindender Schaumkrone. Riecht leicht nach Getreide; leichter Geschmack nach Grass, Getreide und Malz. Im Sommer, gut gekühlt, ein erfrischendes Bier.

Tap @ Frank Bar, Shrewsbury. Ironic that I should be rating this from the UK when I drank gallons of the stuff on my visits to Czech! This isn’t as bad as people make out below, probably because it’s from keg. Crisp and fresh with some malty qualities and overall fairly sweet. Would have again.
