22 July at Cardinal. Hazy brown. Way too sweet for my preference. Same problem with the other polish beers I have tasted too actually.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Miika! Dark reddish brown color. Raisiny, bready and worty aroma. Sweet flavors of dark bread, toffee, raisins and warming alcohol. Full body. Fairly good dobbelbock.

Malziger, tiefröstiger Geruch. Dunkelmalziger Start. Mitte schwer malzig und fruchtige Töne. Malzfruchtiger Abschied. Schweres, aber auch gutes Bier.

I believe mine was marked with slightly lower alcohol. Sweet candyish notes, but one-dimensional. Red appearance with decent lacing pattern. Palate is full but boozy. Thick and chewy but a burn to it. These non-German Euro bocks need their own category, i.e. European Strong lager or something. Lacks the complexity, subtlety and alcohol hiding of a well made doppelbock. Okay, not great.

Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Light toasted grassy malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Good stuff

Bottled. A deep red beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, caramel, and over ripe fruits, leading to a lightly dry and bitter finish.

Papsoe (23023) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2010
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Credited to: "Barlan Beverages Group". Pours a clear dark amber with a beige head. Burned caramel and pumpernickel nose. Very solid malt profile, tons of caramel and pumpernickel, but never gets all too sticky in spite of the discreet hops. 261010
