Thanks to erzengel for sharing!! Pours a dark brown with orange highlights and a tan head. Smells is dark malt, dark fruit, dampness. The taste is as it smells with some heavy roast and herbal notes on the end. Light+ in body with decent carbonation. Strange brew....

Süßlich-süffiger Antrunk, ganz leicht malzig. Nur etwas brotig. Der Hauptteil ist etwas laff, malzig-trocken. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine wässrig-malzige Note. 11/12/9/10

A flat beer that lacks a lot, taste and head. This brewery as so many oter brewery in Germany seems to be afraid of using hops. The only thing this beer has going for it is the colour that seems right.

I tasted the unpasteurized version, it was close to the expiration date (1 month). OK micro brew, however I definitely had better schwarzbeers..

Dunkelweizen from a small artisanal brewery near Trier. Very thick and stable, light beige head on a deep bronze beer with copper glow, clear and transparent but with tiny yeast particles floating around. Agreeable aroma with delicate dark malts (hazelnuts, cocoa powder), light madera touch due to ageing, banana, cloves, vanilla, bark, wheat. Neutral onset with strong carbonation, gradually deepening into a dark malt base with nutty and chocolatey character, accompanied by a light sourish wheat accent that becomes stronger as the palate evolves; finish powdery yeasty, lightly peppery hoppy and a very faint hint of coffee-like roastedness, ensuring a chocolatey character till deep into the throat. Thin mouthfeel though, even a bit watery, though the ageing may well account for that.

Farblich ähnlich wie Mezzo Mix. Röstig, malzig und minimal schokoladig in der Nase. Am Gaumen Malznoten und angenehme Bitterkeit, etwas Karamell. Gut.

500ml bottle @ the 5th Shrewsbury Bottle Share May 14, brought by me and thanks to Beerhunter111. Fresh compost aroma, pours a very dark brown, some malty toffee coming through. Tasty mid-share Dunkel.

Half-litre flip-top bottle shared between four at the May 2014 Shrewsbury Beer Swap: BBD 12 July 2014. Cheers Mat. This Dunkel had a herbal nose and feel to it throughout the tasting, semi-sweet malts ruled the taste with a distinct toffee flavour towards the finish, yet in the background you could taste those herbal/spice notes. Nice brew with a good depth of body and flavouring.
