2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
There’s either a weird malt or a weird hop used that gives this lager an odd flavor - I think it’s the malt. On the plus side, it’s rather flat and is semi-sweet with lots of opaque murk, plenty of malt used, and no shortage of flavor for a lager. Clearly, this is a craft brew. I overall like it but, again, there was something odd in the taste that reminded me of an English ale (in a not so good way).

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Why do I like this brewery so much? There's something very amateur and completely unpolished about them. Are their lagers 'rustic', or just 'odd'. I don't know. But I love them. This one is just as wierd as the others--it has the Kraftbrau thin sweetness, the Kraftbrau grassiness, the Kraftbrau murkiness. I don't think the hops provide enough support for this brew. The finish is rather limp. Who cares? I like the brewery, I like this beer and I like the fellow who sent it. Thanks, Psych Prof.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured golden orange, with a thin off-white ring of foam. Spicy hops and a touch of toast in the light aroma. Flavor was very crisp and hoppy, with cerealy, biscuity malts in the front followed by grassy, spicy hops and a touch of light fruitiness. Impeccably refreshing. A good session lager from the folks at Kraftbrau, and very reminiscent of some of the brews produced by O'Fallon in Missouri.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Hazy golden hue with little head and no lace. The aroma hints of roasted malts, lemongrass, white grape, musty attic, and peanuts. The taste was straight forward aromatic hop with minor citrus twang with an undertone of european malt. A hint of nut and cardboard as well. Thin-bodied with a soft and flat mouthfeel. Very weak beer, will not have again.

Looks like Iced Tea. Smells very light. A little hint of lemon. Grapes? Nutty taste to a bitter finish. OK. This is my first Kraftbrau Beer and I've lived in Kzoo for four years now.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Kraftbrau Sept 27th 2003... Gold yellow with a slight white head. Slightly weak body still balanced okay for me though. Slight malts. Has a slight nuttyness that I can't quite place. Very different to me. Cheers to Vale for being a great hostess that night, made my trip to Kalamazoo quite enjoyable.

Buttery and perfumy aroma, with clear almond-extract in the nose. Bright gold with small head. Lightly carbonated and roundly sweet. Balanced mildly sweet finish. Almond presence is very light in the flavor, but is still there.

Where does he get these things? PsychProf is a MAGNET for complex, rough hewn brews. Hazy, dim and with earthy, salty aromas this thing is wild. Packed full of lemon and other citrus, cracker and full and hefty hop flavors -- this gives a nod to hop power while still preserving balance. Very nice.

Hazy tan; some biscuity malts, bitter hops in the back. Ideas not fully realized...

Medium bodied. Smooth mouthful with a bit of a bitter kick at the finish. Quite enjoyable. Thank you PsychProf.
