3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sliffy (2036) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2007
On tap @ the brewpub: Clear copper in color with a white head. Aroma, some fruits, yeast and caramel. Flavor, nutty, caramel, some grassy hops, but overall very malty beer.

Hazy copper amber color, about an inch of tighly packed tan head. Head quickly recedes to a very thin ring. Some spotty lacing, not a whole lot however. Prominent aroma as soon as I twist the cap off the growler. Malt and spicy hop aromas are very nice, but there is a certain something in there that is difficult to identify. The closest thing that comes to mind is kalamata olives. It is strong each time I twist the growler cap for a refill. It is mild in the glass.
Nice flavor of malt and spicy hops. There is certainly a lager character to this beer. It is clean and softly carbonated. Aftertaste is more spicy hops and unfortunately that olive taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 30, 2003
Another ridiculously overcarbonated Kraftbrau lager...I lost a few ounces again. This is a caramel-colored maibock that poured with a thick light tan head. Caramel and alcohol notes in the aroma. Flavor is caramely, somewhat fruity, and musty, with strong bread-like notes and touches of alcohol. Fairly smooth for a maibock, as these tend to be a bit harsh.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thehoff (569) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - NOV 17, 2003
Nice cloudy orange to brown wheat looking beer. Nice foamy off white head. I smell apple, caramel, lemon peel perhaps, toffee, malt, & some bitterness. Great smelling for a Kraftbrau beer. Tastes quite light actually, a little bitterness, toffee, slightest bit of alcohol. This is the best beer from Kraftbrau for me so far. Awesome. Too bad its seasonal. Actually after the beer sits for a little bit a foul rotten egg smell has been discovered. Why is it that Kraftbrau beers stink. Hope they aren't using water straight from the Kalamazoo river.

poured a murky copper color with a massive white head. sweet malt aroma, taste is of mostly sweet caramel malt with some light fruitiness, with a nice bitter finish.

There's that wacky Kraftbrau nose again. I love it. Flavor is fruity, grassy, malty, sour and bitter all at once. Probably the most bitter maibock I've had, with the possible exception of Einbecker. Thanks, Prof!

Cloudy copper color. Great white head. Sweet malty flavor with a bitter finish. An interesting beer.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2004 I'm not a bock fan and this was pretty darn good. Super pronounced malty sweetness (caramel) but immediately tempered by noble hops, flat and bitter. Wonderfully full body but not syrupy.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 SJP (483) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 26, 2002
A little lighter than I expected a bock to be. And very sweet with a malt flavor I can’t quite place. One of my least favorite Kraftbrau offerings lately.

Light golden color. Light hoppy, sweet malty aroma. Quite sweet malty finish, a little hops. Probably not a bock considering the golden color.
