HUGE light brown frothy head, and a dark red/amber body. Pleasant and surprising hoppy aroma. Mostly pine, with an astringent/spicy resin to it. Strange fruity burnt nuts with coffee hints (a bit like chicory) and over the top peppery floral taste. Mouthfeel is decent, and body is good.

Unfiltered draft sampler at Kraftbrau. One of only 3 ales out of 12 taps here. This is actually a very dark dorwn, even in a sampler glass. Thin head on top. The malts seem more mellowed than roasted, it seems. Hops and yeast give it a nice fruity profile, not citrusy or overbittered; maybe like a pear or a "Juicy Fruit."

GTotMW. Red in color with a nice head. Hops and sweet malt in the nose. Nice balanced flavor, hops sweet & toasted malt. Bitter and finishes smooth. This is a really good red, the best one at the Great Taste.

poured a dark amber with a massive tan foam with nice lacing. nice earthy hop aroma. Taste is of floral and piney hops, sweet malt, and some roastiness with an earthy like mouthfeel, and a slightly bitter finish.

A nice sparkling beer with ample fizz and a smooth palate. Hoppy citrus and sharp malt mixed with candy carmel flavors. Red and bubbly, this brew is quite favorable.

When my glass was full upon pouring, there was about an inch of amber-colored beer and seven inches of thick tan foam. The cap almost burst from the bottle! A very nice spicy, sweet, floral hops aroma tops this one off. Flavor was lighter than expected, with woody, spicy, floral hops and a light malt backbone. Flavor tended to leave an earthy feel on the tongue, but the individual flavors were pronounced enough to shine through. Finishes quite dry. Overall, solid. I'll have to try more of this brewer's products, preferably when I don't have to purchase a 6-pack!

Dark red brown, minimal head. . . thick, murkey hop aroma, almost muddy - one of the more unqiue hoppy aromas I have experienced. Smooth bitter flavour, with some citrus rinds and a bit of malt on the palate. Nice.

Very well made, and quite fresh. I have only had a few of this brewery's ales, but this is the best. Alot like an American Strong, yes, but with more hop presence than malt. The malt is a bit sweet, but the hops are earthy and floral all over the place. A gorgeous color, with some unfiltered cloudiness.

Brown ale color. Some malt tones, but the hops really dominate both in nose and in taste. Very fresh.

Deep amber with a thin head, this glass of beer actually has bubbles, unlike most of the beers here. Nose is dominated by cascade hops. Sugary start on the palate which turns all hops. alcohol is present but welcomed. Best from this brewer by far!
