This is a dark black/ruby beer with slight white foam at the edges. Smells sweet and syrupy, malty. Chocolate in the flavor, coffee, nice bitterness in the aftertaste. This has a really nice porter flavor, and so far none of the bad smells that some Kraftbrau beers have been found to contain.

Sour, dry, foaming, a nice heathery, leathery aroma. feels slightly slick and more alcoholic than 5.5% ABV. suspicious "malt liquor" metallic qualities. Muchas gracias, Psych_prof!

This one, probably unfairly, suffers because my own homebrewed alt this winter was the best brew I've ever made and I've been curious about other alts since. I don't get the "plastic" that seems to have turned off others, but do sense something odd - maybe an electrical fire whiff? I definitely do get that Kraftbrau sourish quality that seems to work well for some of their brews but intensified in this one, overcompensates the decenter malt action.

pours light brown, off white head. weird aroma, like an orange in a plastic bag. plasic is quite as apparent in the flavour, but it's still there, stealing the spotlight from the nice raisin and nutty flavours.

Cloudy reddish-amber; plasticy aroma overwhelms the malts. Malty, good earthiness but before I can get any further, the plastic comes back. What gives, Kraftbrau?

Bright copper, foamy light tan head. Big aroma of burning plastic with maybe a hint of raisins (and other dark fruit) poking through, touch of citrus. Body is full of light citrusy hops. Orange notes that dry towards the end. I got kind of hung up on the nose, couldn't get past it. It's a really good thing that the aspirations in the aroma don't materialize in the body though.

Huge, huge, huge head- should be like that? I mean this was explosion of foam ... Aroma of melted plastic, but when you go past that you can discover something a la Belgian east but a bit flatten and more bitter. You know, this one was hard to rate. I got some good and some bad in it. Ok in middle, dusty aftertaste.

A slightly hazy red/brown color. Nice pillowy head, some lace. Nose is subtle malt, mild coffee, hops and others. Smooth, lush feel, moderate carb, hint of metal, decent malt character, light yeasty fruitiness, cereal, nice hopping to round out a decent brew. Reminds me of an ESB? Thank you PsychProf.

I thank Psych Prof for this absolutely wonderful Christmas beer. The flavor reminds me of what I ahve encountered in really good coffee: a certain lively fruitniness underpinned by drying grains. The aroma is immense. Deep, complex fruit and dark grain. But the whole is light and drinkable, with a generous head lasting throughout. A master work.

Deep dark hazy amber color, small off white head, light smokey malt aroma, nice balanced malty sweetness. Medium body, has a very soft and creamy mouthfeel, some dryness in the finish, pretty good, thanks PsychProf for this pleasant winter brew.
