This is a really good alternative to macro adjunct laden beers. Very pure taste. Very reasonably priced.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Odd, I was sure I’d taken notes on this previously. Golden and clear, looking macro all the way. But by being pure of intent, this comes off cleaner and clearly "all malt." But in the end, this is probably boring to the beer geek, and indistinguishable to the uninitiated. (#5855, 11/12/2014)

Bottle. Bad. Soury and stupid. American brewers have to stop trying to pass crap like this off as if it’s imported, micro-brewed, or challenging beers that are imported or micro-brewed.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
I had this at Fridays. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Taste slightly sweet, like a mass produced lager. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ahhh, Billy Busch’s latest venture. Pours a very clean, yellow color with a frothy, bright white head with decent staying power. Carbonation is very high. Aroma has a strong sour Noble hops nose with a lot of grain. Flavor starts off with a light grassy, orangy, sour Noble hops characteristics which transitions into a pretty sweet pale malt flavor and finishes with light grainy and grassy notes. The flavor actually transitions instead of being one dimensional which is seen a lot in macro pale lagers. Body is light, very fizzy with a touch of oily texture at the end where you expect a crisp feeling. Overall a respectable brew. You can tell there no adjuncts used in the brew as the graininess really stands out. Avoid the ocular Pavlovian response associated with the name Busch, this is a stylistically respectable brew.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2013 The beer’s color is a pure golden color, which is nice to see in a pale lager, with very little head, but the aroma is just yeasty, which is expected in this style. The beer is mildly sour, slightly salty, and a tad sweet, and the palate combines a soft carbonation, light to medium body, thin texture, and an abrupt finish. Overall, this beer is quite a typical American pale lager without being disappointing, like Budweiser, Coors, and Miller often are.

I'm going to go ahead and give this beer a top rating. Hats off for trying to bring the family name back to the United States, where it belongs! This beer is not meant to compete with our desirable craft beer industry, but rather put up a new fight to the bought out Budweiser! Keep up the good fight!
