COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt, roast, caramel and coffee. Dark flavour of malt, with pronounced notes of roast and coffee and subtle touches of fruit. Bitter and roasty aftertaste. A nice one.

Bottle: Served in a taster: Medium sized vast and slowly changing brown foamy head on top of a pitch black colored beer. The first aromas that hit the nostrils are of lots of raisin and some poo. After the beer has been breathing for approx 5 minutes it all changes, a delicate and soft smooth mix of liquorice, mocha, chocolate, cream, a hint of marzepin and very light hints of berries and vanilla tint. A very nice aroma that gets better and better! Flavours are typical but creamy and smooth and with a very strong bitterness: roast, leaves, roasted malts, liquorice, nuts, coffee, coffee roast, spices, some berries, good bitter and a hint of something creamy. Aftertaste is very dark: liquorice, coffee, bitters, light dry, light spiced and roast. Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy oily texture. Very soft yet strong and full of roast and bitters. Close to a good complexity!

Bottle shared at the Pre-CBC 2013 Line Tasting - Copenhagen. Many thanks to the kind souls sharing their beers. Pours oily, dark brown with a creamy, khaki head. Burnt malts, some dry roast, dark fruits, char. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some baking cocoa, lingering roasted malts. Good.

[5/4/13] Bottle shared while waiting in line to get in to Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Thanks fonefan for this bottle. Black with a light brown head. Nice chocolate aroma, a bit liqueur-like, with a bit of alcohol and some cherry notes. Sweet flavor with chocolate. Full-bodied. Good.

(50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten Silkeborg; Bbd: February 22nd 2022) Pours black with little, tan head that recedes leaving good lace. Aroma is roasted malt with hints of booze, coconut and vanilla. Oily texture, medium to full body, soft carbonation and a boozy, warming and astringent finish. Flavour is malty, boozy, not cloingly sweet but certainly not bitter with aroma notes and only slightly roasted. The ABV in this one should produce much more complexity than this one can offer. What a waste. Girlfriend says "it has some orange and chocolate in it."

Bottle. Pours jet black with a brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, oat, bitter malts, light smoke and licorice. The flavor is highly roasted with notes of smoke, licorice and bittering hops. Long roasted finish. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
