3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thewolf (8669) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2009
Bottle @ Ølfestival, Esbjerg, 2009.
Pours murky golden with a nice, staying, creamy, off-white head. (My second and third helping of this beer was served as much clearer, and closer to amber). Aroma is lovely grassy, some pine, light sweet pilsner malts. Lowish carbonation, lovely dry and lightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour starts mildly sweet with caramel and pilsner malts. Then some heavy hoppiness, lots of grass and pine-needles. Great dryness that just sticks. Really nice.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 brokephibroke (186) - Mead, Colorado, USA - OCT 31, 2009
Bottle hand delivered to me by the brewer in Tijuana Mexico, much regards Sir!!
Danish beer is not very popular here in Colorado, but I recently shared a Stone IPA with the brewer on a ride to the Denver Airport. As the story goes, the Stone influenced tjis brew.
It is a fine beer from an American perspective. Hoppy throughout but the palate and long aftertaste are the standouts here.
The aroma is balanced, sweet caramel malt and citrus. The flavour is not over hopped but piney. Sweet up front and a long bitter finish.
Fine IPA from Denmark, Cheers!

At the Ølfestival, Esbjerg, Denmark 22-10-09. Pours orange amber with a white head. Nice chewy hops with a good citrus peel bite. This beer is laced with a nice honey sweetness there is a touch of sorbet about this. Its really very pleasant. Good bite to this beer, apparently its a cross between a UK and a US IPA. 3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pinball (8608) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2010
cloudy brown, smooth light yellow head.
very nice faint citrussy, flowery hoppy aroma. qute flowery, not piny or grapefruity. i think i can smell the sweet notes from the candi sugar too.
flavor is quite bitter, sweet from malts and candi sugar, flowery, exotic fruity flavor like if there was NZ hops in it. Very powerfull sweet hoppy flavor profile, some malts to back it up. It is quite strong, but perhaps lacks some finesse. Bitterness almost spicy at times.
Best before apr. 2010, tasted sep 2010. The bottle shows no signs at all of going downhill.
