very nice lookin’ beer, dark braown body with off-brown foam, lacing is good a s wel aroma is light and smooth roastiness, but something stinks slightly, the flavour is egg, !! !sugar and caramell, sth is "old" about this beer, just ok , the strength is covery by the strange taste, jst ok

a big hitter on the alcohol front at a whopping 9.5%ABV! For a beer with so much booze in it, I was surprised at how easy it was to drink, very smooth and a treat for me was the distinct liquorice flavours that abound - yes Bertie Bassett is one of my best friends!

Brown with ruby highlights, overall pretty clear in the glass. Nice head initially, lasts a bit. Aroma has roasted grain with a minimum of sugar notes - thankfully - and even a little woodiness. Again, thankfully. A little wet cardboard oxidation in the flavor. Definitely not as rich and fruity a Baltic porter as some, which is kinda nice. Reminds me just a little of the raisiny, slightly sour quality of the Southampton version, which also didn’t have an over-the-top body or dark color. Good. Doesn’t taste or seem like 9% at all. OK, well, it doesn’t seem like 9% while cold. As it warms the alcohol is stronger, yet still OK - but it gets sticky in the mouth and acrid a bit.

Bottle. Brown color with creamy head. Caramel and roasted malt aroma. Flavor is little bit smoky, caramel and some like coffee. Nice bitter aftertaste. Good. And if you drink after it pils without flavor ...

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Deep red-ruby color with a beige head. Aroma of smoked meat, toasted malt, caramel, dark fruits and vinous notes. Sweet flavor with licorice, caramel, some chocolate, vanilla notes, fruits and alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Nolt really my thing but not bad.

At a tasting, thanks Zvikar, smallish beige head which lasts for a while, clear deep brown colour with reddish taints, aromas of coffee, dried fruits and brown sugar. Flavours of darkchocolate, amontilado sherry, wood dried fruits ansd some oxidised notes. aftertaste of dried fruits and chocolate cake, yum...

Thanks Naam, pours deep red with a tan head, aroma of cherries, chocolate, roasted malt and some tartness, deep smokey flavors with noticable woody tones, whiskey, marmalade and bitter sweet finish. Body is medium to full. A nice complex baltic porter.

Bottle. Red/brown colour with medium creamy off-white mostly lasting head. Aroma is roasted malt. Heavy sweet flavor.

Deep ruby body with a medium beige head what diminishes quickly. Medium character in the aroma with sweet dark fruits, roasted grains and caramel. Medium in the flavor too, liqueric sweetnes of the alcohol, medium deep roastiness, some spicy vanilla and milk chocolate, some tart. Medium, little vinous finish.

Bottle. Courtesy Saxo bought in Poland. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Red amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Sweet and light bitter flavor. Not very roasted. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Brown and clear. Has an off-white head. Sweet, roasted, caramel aroma. Flavor is unpleasent sweet. Syrup texture. Soft carbonation
