Bottle:Deep golden, small stable white head; pale malty, slightly buttery nose with a mild, but distinctive hoppiness; medium bodied, soft MF, light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, malty base really detectable; subtle fruitiness in the pale-malty and hoppy finish. This "King of the Bohemian Forest" is a good Bohemian Pilsener.........

0.5L bottle bought @Pivoňka, Hradec Králové. A finger of big-bubbled shiny white head, upon a near-clear bright pale golden body. Light sweet-scented pale malts and a big grassy hop aroma. Taste is solid malty, with a noticable sweetness, and some light bread tones. Balanced by a distinct bitterness and some fine grassy hops. Smooth on the palate. Just the right fullness. Lasting sweet malty, light bitter finish. A pretty good one, a tad too far on the sweet side though.

Čepované. Pivo tmavě zlaté barvy a lehké chmelové vůně. Hutnější nápoj se správným řízem a vyváženou chutí. Pro mne překvapení.

bottle from Tesco Vimperk. Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty nose. Bitter-sweet, malty with lots of Saaz hops in the finish. Smooth palate. A delicious beer!

Bottled from overpriced Pivovarsky klub. High-quality (mountain?) water. Taste indistinctive and somewhat dull. Reminds me of Holba Hanušovice beers (which I don’t particularly love either).

on tap in nepomuk. i’m not sure if there will be much of this sold anymore, now that vimperk has its own brewery. anyways, rusty golden, modest head, aroma of porridge and lime sweat, light bitterness and vanilla in the finish, pretty dull

Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with herbal hops. Sweet biscuit malty flavour with great herbal hop flavour and a firm bitterness.

Bottle from Pivonka, Hradec Kralove. Pours deep golden with a massive white head. Caramel and fruity aroma. Taste is well balanced, with enough grassy hop to cope with the solid malty body. Medium carbonation. A solid and well done Bohemian pilsner.

Bottle at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague. Golden color, rather small white head. Malty, bready aroma with some grass. Hoppy, metallic flavor, bready, some grass. Metallic finish.

Clear golden with a small off white head. Malty nose with hints of caramel and a few hops. Flavor had malt, caramel and cardboard. Finished slightly dry from the hops.
