In my opinion, it’s not a Bohemian Pilsener as listed. In its appearance and strong, sweet worty aroma, it’s much akin to other pale bocks that I’ve had. The 4.9% abv contributes to the puzzle. And, according to the brewer’s website: "Pěna je naprosto jemná a rovná, po napití kreslí po stěnách sklenice kroužky tzv. " hladinky". Název " hladinka" či " hladké" je tak logicky vysvětlen. Toto je nejžádanější ve všech pivnicích v Čechách , které takto čepují pivo. " Actually, I don’t know what I copied from their website. This beer isn’t listed at all. The flavor is rich with sweet malts with little, if any, hop presence. Very much like a bock, but certainly not like a doppelbock in its moderate strength. And certainly un-Pilsener-like in its hop deficiency. The finish is sticky sweet and malty. Not a bad brew. I just don’t know what it is.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 26, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with no freshness date. Made an average appearance, poured a orange hued clear golden with a small foamy white head that quickly reduced to a thin bubbly lacing. Had a aroma of faint flavors, apple fruitiness, grain and sweet malt. Moderate carbonation and a slick light bodied mouth feel, easy drinkability. Had an apple fruity taste with some graininess and a mild hop bitterness in the middle and a semi-dry sweet finish.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 27, 2005 The head is really bad. It faintly tastes like a double bock I suppose, but really is more like a (good) grainy lager. Like the lager, it starts out okay but in the end is quite bad. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 16, 2005 Yeah that name’s a BIT misleading. Pale golden color with a thing ring of a white head. Pale malts on the front with some light fruit and grass on the end. Lighter frame, crisp and zesty. Not a bad pils, just make sure you call it a pils. "Pale Double Bock:? What the hell is that? This was a simple, well-balanced, light golden lager. Fairly sweet, mildly hopped finish. Not bad, would make a good warm weather bevvie. tupalev (2612), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
