Pours a clear gold with a spare white head. Decent malty aroma. Dissapointing flavour of light malt with a mild bitterness and something else unpleasant (metallic?) that I did not care for. Light bodied. Blah, it’s just O.K. Sammy (3981), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Not much in aroma. Light yellow, grassy, mineral water aftertaste. rather boring. Could use more something. Thanks for sharing your Czech finds, Radek.

The first taste the hops are a little shocking but depending on the price you could get used to this as an occasional selection. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan

Bittersweet with a light metallic tinge, spicy middle, grassy hops and the creamy Bohemian Pils feel, bitter follow. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Clear golden coor with a coarse textured white head. A bit of a skunky aroma at first that mellowed into a nice malt, light caramel, and grassy hoppiness. Sharp bitter finish that quickly cuts through the almost watery palate. A nice brew and a decent price here in Seattle. Perkeo (318), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2005 Time to un-retire this baby, it’s now brewed by Mestansky...anyway: Gold to brown, full-ish looking, with excellent foam stand; has that excellent grassy aroma of fine czech malt. Clean at first on the palate with that little bit of butter scotch creeping in, fairly carbonic, with a nice saaz kick in the middle and a fairly quick finish which is slowly nullified woth further sips providing background. Piney, full meal grain flavors and fairly satiating, this is a nice fresh bottle that is quite enjoyable. drpimento (817), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2005 nice head at first. also nice aroma- a bit bitter, grassy, malty, beery, later a bit acrid, a hint of sulphur. Looks nice in the glass, light golden amber, not overly carbonated. Perhaps a bit undercarbonated for the "style?" Alcohol long in the finish although it’s not that strong. A bit sweet and watery. Not much wrong or right with it. I liked it better when I had it the first few times. I got this in a beer of the month club. I’m having this one straight from my fridge, so it’s a tad too cold, but as it warms it’s not getting that much better. The name is a misnomer according to tradition.
