Pours a gold/honey color with pretty foamy head into a pilsner glass. Leaves a lot of lacing. Nose of malt / pilsner-esque.taste of caramel, malt and a touch of bitterness. Ok, but not my preferred style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle shared with my son on 19th May 2016 while on holiday in California. Clear golden pour, white unlasting head. Malty front with a decent hop bitter finish, liked the palate too, but without getting excited about the brew.

11.2 ounce bottle from a trade with weihenweizen. The beer is a clear gold with a big head of white foam. The aroma has herbal green tea notes, moderate perfumey grassy notes. Medium sweetness with moderate spice notes. Lighter body and soft carbonation.

Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear golden with big white head. Aroma is light malt, light body, low carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is quite a bit of Pilsner malt, grassy hops, and hints of alcohol. More of a pale lager than pilsner, boring.

Gold beer with a thick billowing white head that forms a solid surface foam. Nose of corn syrup, light caramel, and cardboard. Flavor is typical generic Eurotrash with some sweet caramel undertones topped by a flaccid wet cardboard hop profile. Not what I look for in a double bock.

Microbrewed beer of the month club for December. Thanks again sis! Pours a crystal clear golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is of straw. Taste is lightly sweet with a tart bitterness making for a slightly dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep gold, clear, white head. Grainy-sweet pilsner malt, a little toffee sweetness, light toastiness in the semi-dry finish. Malt-balanced lager is pretty clean and well-made, but no idea why its called a "double bock." This is much lower gravity than style, more like a lighter Helles Bock.

Kind of a mix between a Czech Pilsner and a heller bock. Not too bad, but not my style.

golden colour, stable 2-3cm wide head; aroma of a typical czech lager, taste is also with some dominance of hops, cardboard, bitter aftertaste and some disturbing metallic-alcoholic side-taste; will not be my favourite Ctech beer, but drinkable.

Very malty beer in both aroma and taste (I think the label of heller bock is closer to the style than the pilsner listed here). Foamy white head on medium gold body. Dry , slightly chalky finish. Not bad, but don’t be expecting a pilsener.
