Bottle pours dark dark brown, slight purplish hue, large off-white pancake batter like head, with spotty lacing. Roasted malts, slight chocolate and soy on the nose. Light fruit, pears/apples, on the tongue, along with some roasted malts. Aroma is stronger than the bite. Its also a bit sweet. Body is slightly malty, mouthfeel is a bit below medium. Finishes somewhat quickly, malty, with roasted malts. Nothing complex, a simple Dunkel thats easy to drink.

Pours a almost black, a little light get through it. Aroma is roasted malt and I get some hops in there. Flavor is coffee and chcolate. The taste does not really hit you like it should but its there. Sorry to see it go.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Came across this one in one of my latest brew hunts. Pretty good, malty, coffee chocolate undertones, not too bitter smooth drinking beer. Its a shame its being discontinued.

Somewhat dry, roasty tmave. Strictly middle of the raod, but easily beat the Beck Dark I had after this. Retired? Must have been very recent.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
A nice, rather dry and roasty dunkel from the Czech Republic that I've heard of for years but never seen until a recent trip to California's BevMo. A touch nutty and not terribly sweet. It's almost a porter, I'd say, due to its roastiness. OK, but I wouldn't seek it out again.

Retired? Poured dark black with sticky tan head and toffee aroma. Smoky wood flavors on a smooth beer ... quite nice.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This was actually quite tasty to me. A nice bitter roastedness, with some light coffee notes in places, otherwise, it had a very toasted oat, breakfast cereal taste at times. Somewhat inconsistent and unbalanced, maybe it was an old bottle, but I still found it to be enjoyable.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. A hint of roasted grains and a slightly sweet nose. Very dark beer with a small beige head. The flavor is toasted grains but then disapears to a watery beer. A slight lingering roastiness, but not much else. You'll wish for a bit more flavor.

Dark, almost ruby tint with no head to speak of. Roasty vanilla nose. Slightly acidic but roasty throughout, some hints of alcohol and a long sweet lactic finish.
