Commercial Description:
Is a classic Czech "tmave" (dark) beer with a sweet malty, coffee-like accent. Sweet malts are to the fore on the palate with a hint of drying sensation and a degree of fruitiness on the very lightly hopped finish.

Pours brown with offwhite head. Smells lightly of carmel malt and a bit lageresque. Flavor is not bad, not good either. This is a middle of the road dark lager.

Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours a very dark brown with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is the same as aroma but less prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good.

Easy drinking Czech dark with a nose I don't particularly care for. Quaffable, but certainly no standout in the wonderful world of dark lagers.

Bottle. Malt lovers should go crazy over this one. Syrupy malt aroma, somewhat medicinal. Dark reddish brown body, large light tan head. Flavor is sweet and a little roasty, with malt and more malt. Nicely carbonated, which prevents it from being overly syrupy.

Pretty dark brown color (ruby when held up to a light) with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor were bursting with burnt tones, coffee, chocolate, and caramel. The aftertaste was very sweet with a root beer character. Bubbly, crisp feel...semi-dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Coffee? I get something more like sweetened ice tea and kept looking vainly for something to balance that out. It’s drinkable, but I wouldn’t look too hard for it.

Bottle. Poured red black with foamy beige head. Full aroma of caramel, coffee and toast. Light body, light flavour, didn’t match aroma, malt, a bit of unsweetened coffee. Light finish. This is low enough in alcohol to make a session beer.
