2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Easy drinking Czech dark with a nose I don't particularly care for. Quaffable, but certainly no standout in the wonderful world of dark lagers.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This was actually quite tasty to me. A nice bitter roastedness, with some light coffee notes in places, otherwise, it had a very toasted oat, breakfast cereal taste at times. Somewhat inconsistent and unbalanced, maybe it was an old bottle, but I still found it to be enjoyable.

heavy mettalic flavor, still not a horrible beer. drinkable, decent cocoa taste, fizzy body that is thin and uneventful.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle compliments of Tres Bonne Cuisine in Boise, ID<!-- BR -->Pours a dark brownish black color, a light tan head. The nose is sweet and rich with some subtle skunk and corn notes. Lots of molasses and brown sugar, some roast and a touch of vanilla. The finish is balanced, it has that classic tangy "imported european dark lager" hint in the end. A bit traditional but a bit stale and a letdown.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Roasty, nutty malt aroma, with notes of coffee, cola, and maple syrup. Frothy diminishing head on a dark brown liquid. Just less than medium body, rather sweet yet slightly dry, with a hint of sourness. Major flavors are cola, roasted almonds, and maple syrup...it’s remarkably quite like a less sweet Coca-Cola without the buzzing carbonation. Very quaffable, but the sweet cola-like flavor is a bit odd.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown with a small off-white head. Molasses aroma with pine resin and toffee intermingled. Extremely light sweetness in initial flavor. Light body, watery texture. Not bad, just not very flavorful.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
A nice, rather dry and roasty dunkel from the Czech Republic that I've heard of for years but never seen until a recent trip to California's BevMo. A touch nutty and not terribly sweet. It's almost a porter, I'd say, due to its roastiness. OK, but I wouldn't seek it out again.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Watery, malty with a very thin, light body.
Roast, caramel, smooth and drinkable but not something to buy twice.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Coffee? I get something more like sweetened ice tea and kept looking vainly for something to balance that out. It’s drinkable, but I wouldn’t look too hard for it.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very dark bron color, strong tan head that has some real staying power.Malty sweet aroma,Mild yeastiness, with a mild hop presence.Mildly malty taste lite hoppiness very nearly no sweet taste as the aroma would like you to believe there is more. The feel is kind of weak, watery and if it wern't for the carbonation it would be a total dud. There is a slight roasted malt after taste but it doesn't last very long.Kind of a disappointing brew
