Hmmm... Actually, not a bad brew. Sampled next to a Budvar and a Czech-brewed (or so I’m told) Urquel. Very nice. A little lighter on the body and palate than the others (just a tad watery, actually), but overall a very nice, quaffable brew with spicy hop aromas, a pale gold (alas, as opposed to Urquel’s DEEP gold) and a flavor that just wasn’t quite up to the aroma. All-in-all, however, an attractive and pleasant brew.

In the bottle. I was very impressed with this beer. Poured a medium gold with a white head. The aroma was grainy with bread, apples and a hint of celery. The taste was good carrots with a little grass. There was also a spicy black pepper and slight bell pepper finish. Finished dry and clean. A pretty good pilsener.

Always a beer that comes thru in the clutch when you need to turn to something always reliable. Gold in color with a nice white head, aroma of caramel and hops but on a toned down level. Very crisp on the tongue, flavor is clean and very drinkable. I’ve never been disappointd by this brew.

Interesting. Yellow-gold with a lacy head. Not bitter like it should be, more of a sweet malty taste. Very sweet finish. This is more like a lager than anything else. This used to be a really good Czech beer.

I agree with others, great color, but the flavor of my bottle had much to be desired, way too sweet, no hop presence at all, maybe a pretty old bottle, but no way to tell. not much carbonation at all. I hopefully will try a fresh bottle soon.

Med. gold color with small head, sparse lacing and a mild malty and slightly acidic fruity aroma. Light bodied with a medium sweet caramel malt flavor and some bitterness becoming drier in the finish. Run of the mill with possible freshness issues-no bottling date info that I could see on the label although there is a different brewer listed than the retired Kralove above.

Not a huge aroma for me despite what other reviewers have added. The color is great, the taste is good. It’s average and that’s about all I can say. It was enjoyable, but not thirlling. I had a slight hint of coffee aroma, but otherwise it was almost musty. The front taste isn’t impressing and the back taste is a bit sweet.
