Královský Lev Votrok (Lev Lion Lager)

This brew poured a very small head of fine to large sized white bubbles and a transparent straw yellow orange colored carbonated body. It has a mild sweet malt hop aroma and a fizzy mouthfeel. The flavor is mildly hopped with sweet malt and weak on the flavor side of things.

Hoppy then mildspicy aroma.Medium gold appearance.Thick hoppy crisp flavor.More of a lager than a pilsner.Mild bitter spicy honey finish.

This isn't a bad pilsner, but it's also not a godsend for the style. The hops are noticeable, as they should be in a pils, but it's not overpowering. It's crisp, but slightly buttery and very drinkable. I tried this at a festival, but I'm sure that if I were to actually see the price tag on what I'd pay for it at the store, I wouldn't want to pay for it.

Medium golden color with an off white foamy head and good small to medium bubble carbonation and lace that lasts all the way to the bottom of the glass.Aroma is of buttery yeast and hops.Taste is buttery, tangy, dry, peppery, tart with a slight yeast flavor and maybe orange peel.A lot going on here. Pretty good.

Sampled at the Peoria International Beer Festival. My boss just kept telling me to try this one. "It's great!" He may have thought so, but I found it rather bland and watery. Aroma is malty, but rather indecipherable. It was my first Bohemian-style pils, so I admittedly have a lot to learn. Perhaps after I get a few more beers under my belt, I'll return to the Lev Lion and try, try again.

Clean, slightly buttery, sweet flavour. Light golden colour. A nice easy drinking lager.
