Královský Lev Votrok (Lev Lion Lager)

worth a trip to hradec kralove. try it at the cerny kun. just to let iceman know that lev is the czech word for lion which makes sense if you look at the label.

very unique. very clean tasting and golden in color. very nice.

Overall well balanced and elegant pilsner, not particularly bitter but a little prickly hop surrounds the pale malt. Decent pilsner.

Bottle. Aroma is strong and very hoppy. Pours a light golden brown. Head is thin and disappears rapidly. Flavor is hoppy and quickly fades to bitter hoppiness towards the end. Medium carbonation. Repeat buy.

Always a beer that comes thru in the clutch when you need to turn to something always reliable. Gold in color with a nice white head, aroma of caramel and hops but on a toned down level. Very crisp on the tongue, flavor is clean and very drinkable. I’ve never been disappointd by this brew.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with medium-sized, dense, slightly off-white head. Aroma is mildly doughy with hints of yeast. Some lightly prickly aroma of hops, as well. Flavor is bright, with well-rounded bready maltiness. Full and lively mouthfeel. Finish has the perfect amount of mildly bitter, slightly flowery hops. Very enjoyable bo pils.

A really good lager. Light, noble hops shine though. A very pretty beer in my opinion. Straw colored, with lots of cool carbonation. A good malty undercurrent, with a nice hop balance. One of the better lagers I’ve had. Lev makes good beer in my humble, humble, opinion.

In the bottle. I was very impressed with this beer. Poured a medium gold with a white head. The aroma was grainy with bread, apples and a hint of celery. The taste was good carrots with a little grass. There was also a spicy black pepper and slight bell pepper finish. Finished dry and clean. A pretty good pilsener.
