3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours glowing gold with a fine, white foam head. Moderate smoke nose, some caramel. Medium to big sweet flavor with sturdy smoke, honey ham, caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with understated smoked malt character beside more carmamel and sugar-coated meat. Nice rauchbier. I like it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Swing-top by 21.02.13. Smoky nose, woodsy with some malty sweetness but more reminiscent of autumn a crunchy dried leaves than a pig roast. Pours deep amber with a creamy, rocky beige head. Smoky taste is moderately dry, malty light-medium body with a smoky aftertaste. Hope this doesn’t come off as pretentious, but I love the authenticity here -- the smoke is natural and a little bit raw.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from REWE, Buttenheim. Copper coloured with a slight, white head. Light, wood smoke aroma balanced by some caramel sweetness. Flavour had plenty more smoke, reminiscent of an open fire with some more fruity sweetness and a roast, dry finish. Enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the Brau Haus - 27/04/12.
Clear bungle-brown colour with a big finger + of dirty white head that soon thinned.
Smoked malts/frazzle crisps light is the predominant smell allied to a little wood.
Caramel flavour a hint of raisens subdued smoky malts - quite subtle compared to some Rausch.
Medium body decent carbonation.
