A good dark beer. Dark chocolate color and tan head. Nice malty aroma and flavor with a nice finish.

Jul 31, 2008 (bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty, almost a bit Bock-like aroma with hearty notes of caramel and traces of sugar beet. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dark and toasted malty taste with caramel; medium-dry, sweet and slightly bitter toasted finish. Decent quality Dunkel (22.07.08).

Jul 7, 2008 50cl bottle @ Gasthof Wurzburg, Germany. Pours clear amber/brown with a quickly disappearing fluffy head. Aroma is caramel/toffee. Mouthfeel/body is medium. Sweet caramel & bread. Grainy notes. OK!

Feb 8, 2005 Bottle. Dark chocolate malt aroma - noticeable tannic aroma. Dark tan color - clear with next to no head. Burnt malt and caramel flavor - on the watery side. Nice taste but on the weak side.

Jul 11, 2003 Best of the Krautheimer beers I had until now. Caramel, light smoked, light hoppy aroma. Brown color, beige head, fair lace. Smokey, light sweet, caramel. Rather light for a dunkel. Long lasting hop and caramel aroma.
