Bottle - pours cloudy copper with almost no head. Had somewhat of a vegetable taste. Thin mouthfeel and not much of an aftertaste. Forgettable.

Poured a medium clear, amber colour with a white head. Toasty nose. Very, very thin on the palate with no aggresiveness from the malt.

On tap at GABF 2011. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is honey and toasted malts, something nutty. A rich biscuit flavor, caramel, bready, lots of honey. Enjoyable.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dwyerpg (3462) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Not much in the aroma. Weird, first sip is surprisingly fruity. It’s a bit sweet and lemony almost. I’ve given choc a fair shake now and they just don’t pass the mustard for me.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 gururyan (304) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - SEP 2, 2011
Better than last year’s batch but still far from something to be too proud of.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ben4321 (2056) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 29, 2011
Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 6/29/11
Aroma: The nose is dusty malts, some caramel, earth, and a little bit of grass
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear orange color with a foamy white head and drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is bready and grass, some malts, caramel, and a dry dirt/earth finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, a touch watery and a touch sticky, long, semi-unpleasant finish
Overall Impression:
Overall, I didn’t really love this one. It just doesn’t work all that well. This one is pretty much the definition of forgetable. I imagine it will leave my memory as quickly as it leaves the glass.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Aurelius (3077) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - FEB 27, 2011
Toasted cereal malt aroma, with a little bockiness to it. Murky light brown beer, bad label on a squat twistoff. This was surprisingly good - not too complex, but just pleasing to me personally. Just a dash of cocoa, lightly sweet, chalky, a simple, woody bittering. Chan’s Wine World, PCB.
