3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Krombacher Dark has a thick, roiling, pillowy, beige head and a dark brown appearance, with red highlights. Pretty heavy lacing is left down the glass. The aroma is of tap water and maybe some malt sweetness. Taste is of dark-roasted barley malt, coffee, chocolate, some straight-forward bitterness, and sweetness. There is paperyness here as well. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Krombacher Dark finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a good beer, and I think it’s worth trying. RJT

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pitch black, but the carbonation is visible. Thin but rocky, boiling tan head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a definite toffee twist. The drinks has a strong toasty edge with a funky twist of prune. Deserves a grilled pork steak. (#4591, 5/7/2012)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours opaque black with a brown hue around the edges. The nose is quite faint with just a hint of honey and breakfast cereal. The taste is toffee to chocolate, with a malty background profile. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a nice elegant finish. Overall, I like this and am not sure why it gets rated not so generously.

50cl bottle. Dark brown , almost black with medium, creamy, eggshell like head. Nose : toffee, caramel , roasted bread and vanilla. Humid loundry and cheese notes. Sip : Foamy and low density liquid. Low carbonation. Sweet start with little bitter hop and coffee ending. Overall it’s a lame and not exciting taste.
