On tap at Macska Café, Budapest.
Deep ruby-brown beer with a creamy tan head. Aroma of some caramel, roasted malt, light espresso, nugat. Light texture with a médium sweetness, caramel and some coffee. Easy one.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
pours supa-black like a Guinness (ABV close to Guiness 4.1%), small head, minimal runny lacing, small ringed CO2 retention. A bit of roasted malts on the nose, some caramel. Noticeably thin-bodied going down, tingly invasive CO2 in the mids that is off-putting, lightly sweetened breads/barley in at the top of the mouth, very subtle roast and 2/10 bitterness at the finish. Low depth, low-medium complexity, thin-bodied. I dislike the watery mouthfeel and lack of carry at the end. Although dark, it is deceptively weak.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
15th December 2011<br.Bloody great Stein of the stuff in the Bavarian Beerhouse, Crutched Friars. Dark red brown beer, small white head. Mildly crisp and mildly dry. A light touch of dark malt with traces of licorice and toffee. Mild fruity hop and mild minerals. Altogether quite a mild dark lager. Semi dry finish. Was decent enough to distract me from the godawful food and ooompah racket! For awhile at least!

Bottle (kindly delivered by Quack-Duck!): Deep, deep amber coloured, maybe a bit hazy, big tanned head that slowly collapses, light dryish caramelly nose, some fruits underneath; very light dry bitter flavour, very light bodied as well; thin fruity-ashy finish. A german beer, that is n o t available in Germany. Who knows why......
