The full-flavoured beer with a fine and malty taste.

Un plaisir noir avec une marque grillée.

Fairly decent. Not as full of flavor as I had expected. Pretty tasty, but a little thin.

Bottle bought on Tesco Extra in Whitfield, Dover / Kent. Unfortunately just found out with opening the bottle that the beer expired 2 months earlier. Well nevertheless we’ve paid 1,50 British pound for it, so we drank it (btw this beer isn’t in Germany available, that’s why we’ve bought it in England. Normally a bottle of this beer would cost around 85 Euro Cent in Germany, what’s equivalent about more than twice less money)....Deep black colour, low but steady head. Aroma of milky coffee. Creamy taste of malt and coffee, low bitterness.

0,5 l bottle shared with McTapps. Pours in almost black with small head. Aroma is malty. Taste is a bit malt. Surprisingly watery. Below average.

Bottle. A handsome beer - dark mahogany with a generous beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavour is roast, coffee with a dry finish. Prickly mouthfeel and a little thin.

Black in colour with beige head that leaves a lace down side of glass. Aroma of roasted barley with hints of chocolate and liquorice. Taste is of licorice Pontefract cake with seams of roasted barley and chocolate, quite complex and nice. The palate is little weak and lets it down, more watery than it looks. However, a beer I could drink and drink again.

pours clear medium light brown with a decent beige head, some retention. veggie-chocolate malts, some coffee and caramel, very hint of sweetness, some roastiness, but mainly caramel. average cabonation, light body, short grassy finish.

Aroma is fruit forward. A dark brown pour with a mostly diminishing tan head and slight lacing. A biscuity malty taste with a biscuity aftertaste. Medium to medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Dry, chalky feel. Overall, I liked this beer. While not a go to beer, I'd drink it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2012 Very dark mahogany color with a frothy/creamy head. The head is very long-lasting and leaves exceptional lacing. The body is medium and near creamy smooth, with excellent carbonation. No flaws in the aroma or taste, but the flavor is a bit weaker than ideal.
