Bottle: Amber coloured, clear, smaller - slowly collapsing - white head, light to moderate grassy-hoppy nose with very faint traces of dark malt or caramel; moderate dryish bitter - sweet flavour, light bodied and a bit fizzy; short and dry bitter-grassy finish. This is not a real Dunkel, but a fake! Tastes suspiciously like a coloured Krombacher Pils…

Large white creamy head and a dark brown body. Aroma of dark bread, malt. The taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Thin body. Borring.

On tap. Marrone con riflessi ramati. Limpida. Schiuma beige fine non troppo persistente. Aroma tostato, fruttato di nocciola, un po’ di mou e malto tostato. Gusto dolce abboccato, poco amara, lievemente acidula. Abbastanza equilibrata e armonica

Bottle @ home. Brown with a red tint, medium off white head, nice lacing. Aroma and taste, malty, caramel, grain, light roasted notes. Light bitterness, sweet oily mouth feel. Very ordinary, very German.

If I had not seen the label I would have thought it was the Pilsener. They taste and smell more or less similar, only the color has been changed. Poor!

Bottle from Rewe Frankfurt drunk on the train to Bamberg. Clear dark brown colour lasting beige head. Some brown malts and some milk chocolate on the aroma. Fine in the mouth with a bit of uncultured maltiness. Ok though. Some sting on the finish. Better and more interesting than I expected. Ok.

Danke erzengel! Pours a clear medium brown with a small loose head. The smell is brown sugar, dark bread, roasted malt, caramel. The taste is dark roasted malt, some of the aforementioned notes but in a muted way. Light/medium with soft carbonation.

Erzengel (1912) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2014
The beer starts quite watery and a little bit roasted. Very easy to drink. The mainpart is watery with a little bit of aroma. In the aftertaste there is a little bit of bitterness, harmonising nicely with the dry malty body. But the watery covers all.
--> Too watery, but the aroma that haven’t drained are quite good! --> 7/12/9/9

Draft. Aroma of bread, caramel and nuts. Medium mouthfeel, a bit bready and filling. No discernable aftertaste. (from notes)
