Skidds (155), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jan 14, 2007 Updated: Jul 4, 2008 Pretty good Pilsner. Apparently this is the most popular beer in Germany. I liked it, but did find it overly malty.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours deep golden body, shiny essential and pleasant, head is dense, rather frothy with nice lacing, head colour is milky white, body carbonation is medium, very similar to many Bohemian Pilseners.
Aroma: Assertive, classic aroma of German Pilsener, hoppy bitterness with some citrusy notes well balanced with fat malty touch in its deepness, reminding me one of my favourite style - Bohemian Pilsener. Chalky, grainy with simpathic, inviting sweetness lying in the background, some notes of aromatic hops.
Flavour: Generally as in the appearance its more lively colour and in the aroma its sweet malty character pronounces itself in the flavour, giving mild, not that bitter as in the other citrusy yellow coloured Classic German Pilseners. Citrusy, mildly bitter on palate with some pronounced hoppyness in nose, definitely grainy and a bit chalky but much more towards mineral finish. Finish duration is medium.
Palate: Body is light, texture is rather wattery, carbonation on palate is medium, finish feel is chalky but more towards being clean.
KimJohansen (2904), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Clear golden with medium white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes. Very sweet flavor with caramel malty notes. Ends sweet. No hints of hops. cellar (320), Dublin, Ireland Jul 17, 2008 Light golden with fast dissapering head. Notes of malt, fruit and some malt. Sweet and very sweet aftertaste. patrick767 (1389), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 tap at 3 Alley in Seoul - Pours clear golden with a one finger white head. It has a light, bready malt aroma. It’s an easy drinking, mild tasting beer with some crisp hops bite. Decent.
