3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ha1ag (646) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 23, 2009
Bottled from Aachen. Color is hazy orange, with huge creamy head, which leaves impressive lacing. Vanilla and banana in nose. Aroma is weizen and banana. Hints of sourness can be detected as well. Flavour becomes more sour like a wheatbeer with lime. There are better weizens but it looks marvelous and the sourness is appreciated on hot days.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nekronos (3184) - Xalapa, MEXICO - AUG 21, 2009
VEry nasty in flavour, Krombacher is more about Pilsners, I don’t know how it got so high rate in here.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcdav2154 (436) - GERMANY - AUG 21, 2009
I had this one from the tap after 18 holes at Jakobsberg Golf Club and Resort in Boppard Germany. One of the best Weizens I’ve had because of the difference from the rest of them. The look was about the same as any other weizen with a hazy orange body with a creamy head but this head was THICK and laced beautifully. Smell was some banana and not really any clove. A lot of bread and butter with oranges and peaches. The taste was definately banana and bread but a ton of peaches with some spice and oranges. It had a medium fruity hoppy aftertaste and was extremely creamy tasting. Great beer!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rosenbergh (4653) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 2, 2009
500 ml bottle. Finland.
Hazy orange-yellow colour with big white head. Sweetish wheaty and fruity (banana/abricot/peach) aroma. Wheat, sweet caramel and some lactose sourness in flavour. Very refreshing Weizen.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fullers74 (71) - DENMARK - JUL 24, 2009
From bottle. Hazy orange colour. White lasting head. Bit watery in the mouth, but still a very good weizen.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (7069) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2009
Bottle. Hazy orange with a large white foam. Aromas are clean wheat with strong yeastiness and gentle spices. Nutty with some vanilla. Flavours are sweet wheat, cream and lemon with some banana coming through near the finish. Dry on the aftertaste with plenty of yeast. Decent.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - JUL 12, 2009
Bottled at Kerttu, Turku. Murky orange, firm white head. Sweetish wheaty nose, clean yeastiness, little vanilla, some sweet fresh banana. Flavor is a tad hollow in compare, some cellar, sweet wheat, basic banana fruitiness, a bit watery finish. Strongly carbonated but slick palate. Luckily it misses most bulky notes, but still way out of the Aying -league.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RichardW (1155) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - JUN 29, 2009
500cl bottle, Rehills, Newcastle. Another good quality German hefe. Plenty od clkoves and citrus, with some nuttiness. Vivid cloudy orange colour. Difficult to say much more than I’ve already said about this genre of beer.
