1664 White is a fresh and fruity white beer. Because of its flavor and its design, it embodies the elegance and taste of French in the world of wheat beers. Authentic, it is accessible and slightly fruity, revealing subtle aromas of citrus, lemon and coriander.

The aroma bright tones of grapefruit and peel, which are generally sacrificed everything else. Against the background unless looked through some cereal notes. In taste citrus acidity, cereal sweetness, again the same saturated orange and grapefruit tones. Bitterness weak that combines the grassy and zest. The aftertaste citric acidity, bitterness becomes a little harder next immutable grapefruits and oranges.

From tap at Melkebaren with UKM 13.10.15. Hazy pale yellow/greyish. Dense and persistent white head and lacing. Aroma of lemon and green banana. Taste of wine gum, citrus juise and pinaple. Canned pineapple in aftertaste. A bit waterish

Draught at Cock’s and Cow’s, Østerbro (yes, that’s a burger restaurant...). Hazy, almost milky golden colour with a bubbly, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, bubblegum, banana, apples, spicy hints and wheat malts. Taste is lightly sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with light yeasts and lemon. Fresh.OK.

Short living head. Aroma: harsh spicy ethers, perfume, sweet rotten apricots, some zest. Taste: light sweeteness, light to moderate sourness, light bitterness and astrigency. Flavour: rotten apricots, zest, strong perfume notes like aromat soap or bath gel. Strange and overperfumed.

Appearance: hazy straw with one finger of dense creamy white head, excellent retention and good lacing. (4/5) Aroma: sweet orange, raspberry, caramel, wheat, coriander. (5/10) Taste: moderately strong sweet, mild bitter, light tart. (4/10) Palate: light body, moderate-low carbonation, short duration finish. (3/5) This starts off fairly inoffensive, but the glucose and fruit flavour get to be a bit sickly after a while. Not terrible, but not great, either. I’d feel a bit annoyed at having bought a six-pack of this, were it not for the fact that a) it’s not bad on a the patio on a warm day, and b) She Who Must Be Obeyed sorta likes it. (10/20)

Yuck. Hazy yellow pou, funky fruity aroma. Off flavour of wheats and moldy fruits. This was a fresh can so had to have been just a crap beer. Kronenbourg has some ok stuff so this just wasn’t one of them.

50cl from tap@Oslo Mekaniske Verksted in 1664 Blanc glass@approx 7 degrees C. Pours hazy yellow white head with sufficient retention. Aroma of orange, lemon and grass. Fruity flavour of lemon, peach, orange, apricot and bubblegum with a hint of wheat thrown in. Medium/light bodied with medium carbonation. I had expected a witbier but this was much more like a more alcoholic radler without the edge of yeast of a regular wit. Refreshing, but somewhat bland and artificial and not very interesting. A beginnes wit?

Mousse blanche, couleur jaune pâle, bel arôme agrumes, orange? Goût agrumes, est-ce bien une bière? Enfin cela désaltère. En pression, 25 Cl dans une brasserie à Paris.
