tmoreau (1269) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2011
On tap at Ballydoyle Pub in Bloomingdale, IL., and dispensed to a thick rimmed lager glass with a clear, golden color, thick, rocky, lasting, white head foam, and abundant curtains of lacing. The aroma was light corn, a typical light lager nose, and some light graininess. The flavor added just a touch of sweetness, and low hop bitterness, in a light body. Crisp, and not bad with the food, and maybe as a warm weather hydrator.

(draught at a bar in Bandol) Clear, golden colour with a blond and dense foamy head of medium size. Sweet, slightly grainy and milky pale malty aroma with a very shy hoppy touch. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Pale malt-character with shy grainy spots and some herbal hoppy accents; dry-ish mouthfeel; sweet-bitter and slightly herbal hoppy finish. No highlight but still a reliable brew when there is nothing else to get. 05.III.11

This is actually a very good looking beer: pale/golden with an impressive white head that leaves lots of lacing. The aroma is very subtle with some hoppy notes. There isn’t much going on flavour-vise, this is an anonymous beer that doesn’t provoke anyone. The taste is also really gentle with just a slightly hint of bitterness. All this, combined with the rather thin body and a perfect amount of carbonation, makes this a very nice summer brew. And the tiny 25 cl bottle is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen that doesn’t have big eyes and fur. [25 cl bottle, Kiwi, Etterstad]

A: The pour is a pale golden straw color with a short lived, but initially large, white head. S: Smells just bad. Quite skunky with a bit of a warm garbage aroma. Lots of corn and other cooked vegetables. Lager yeast is also present. T: The flavor isn’t quite as bad, but still not all that enjoyable. Corn, overcooked broccoli, and incredibly skunky. Lager yeast and a bit of cooked grain. M: Light in body with a medium to high level of carbonation. O: Pretty foul stuff, though probably not the worst beer I’ve ever had.

I drank a lot of this while I was in Switzerland because that’s just about all I could buy. Nothing special, just yellow, fizzy, and cheap.

This beer is clear gold with a thick white head. At first the aroma was hidden, but I got bittery hops and the beer smelled a bit off. The taste is bitter and not well balanced. All beers in the pack were the same so I conclude that this is how the beer was intended. It is drinkable, but there are other I would go to first
