A "Kronie" has a distinctly earthy and sensual taste, it kisses you deeply and passionately, one Kronenbourg on my table and I suddenly imagine that I am spending a rare night with someone special, a young and very exotic lover at my side. I have never found this kind of delicious taste in any other beer. Very unusual coming from a blonde, because you’d expect that kind of earthy taste to come from a dark beer. Again, to me it is absolutely exquisite. It must be the unique set of hops or something else in the fermentation process. Whatever it is, you couldn’t duplicate it in another beer, so I am giving it the highest ratings and I couldn’t put any other brand near it. It’s unfortunate that Kronies are not so easy to find here in the US where I live (Florida), but I know where to go for the best chance of buying them.

Fairly dismal even for a pale lager. Clear gold. White head. High carbonation. Thin body. Sweet, quite watery.

Pours to a small white head with little action on the side of the bottle. Has a sour taste that doesn’t match well with the aroma. First try at a French beer and probably the last I’ll try. Didn’t mark as a drain pour out of respect for the excellant wines made in that country.

Apple and some light herbal aromas in this golden lager, pours with a billowy head that fades to a rim of lace. Honeyish malt flavours only lightly restrained by woody hop bitterness. Body is fairly thin with moderate carbonation.

Growler. Pour is golden with a tight white head. Aroma is corn, sulfur, light hops, butter, malt. Flavor is identical except the sulfur turns to a mineral taste like zinc or copper. Finish is lightly sweet and floral. overall drinkability is high minus the metallic flavor.
