Bought a six pack from the Kroger on Pioneer and Bowen. Tastes like French Heineken.

This is actually a pretty good beer, far better than most American macros. I’ve had a tap in Strasbourg and Paris. I’m not sure why its getting a bad rap here. Once again its hard to really take what people on ratebeer.com say because all palates are different, but I’d say most raters here are really novice beer drinkers trying to pose as experts because this is not a bad beer. Try the 1664 White too...

Can, in on a hot summerday in France. Golden colour, small and unstable and fastly disappearing white head. Smell: a bit artificial. Taste:grainy, a bit hoppy and malty, artificial. Not a special beer, very standard and no reason to try this beer when you have other options.

Pours clear straw-gold, with a one-finger white head, good and lasting lacing. Earthy bohemian hop aroma, with a caramel undertone. Light bodied, crisp. Very mild flavors of caramel, apple, and biscuit. No obvious defects.

Draft pint at Nicholson’s in downtown Cincinnati, and served in a nice Kronenbourg 1664 glass. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma of hops, wheat, grass, honey, bread. Flavor follows suit. Light body, mild carbonation, crisp. Quick finish. I think this is the first French beer I’ve ever had. It’s overpriced, but not as bad as other raters have suggested.

Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head. It has an aroma of sweet malt and bitter hops with some fusel oil smellable. It has a crisp, bubbly mouthfeel and tastes of bitter hops and fusel oil with a hint of sweetness from the malt.

Light yellow with carby bubbles but little white head. Aroma of grassy wheat and a mild taste to match. Fair palate and finish.

Can from LCBO singles bin: I’ve put off sampling this one for years and now I realize my disdain for pretentious canned euro import lagers was justified. Poured a limpid pale gold. short lived white cap, faint aroma of grainds and grassy hops and some funk ( I could be tasting a stale sample) Weak mouth. light peppery palate ( over carbonated) grainy tstes but sweet spartan hopping for a Euro lager...fast uneventful finish. To weak and sweetish without balance. At $2.55 a half liter this is totally overpriced.
