3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BMan1113VR (6146) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 11, 2008
Had on a plane on a flight to Europe. Fruity esters, slightly grassy hops, some hay and some sweetness. Pours with a creamy, white head that reverts to a film atop the yellow hued body. Suprisingly nice lacing. Taste is american macro style: not much aftertaste. A little fruit but mainly water. Some hay malts. Fizzy carbonation, but creamy. I have always liked 1664, brings back good memories.

Aroma was of hops and alcohol. Cheaply brewed as alcohol was the dominant taste. Color was golden with a white head. Very light and dry taste.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Stefano (1676) - Esbjerg, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2008
Pours a clear golden color with a longlasting white head. Sweet malty grassy aroma. Flavour is a bit malty, little sweetness, some hoppiness. Dryish hoppish finish.

Can-Airborn. Sweet lager with a very light finish. Not watery, not thin, just light. This made the plane ride ever so smooth!

12 oz bottle. I am not a pale lager fan but this one took me by surprise, I you can get by the skunky aroma it’s a very drinkable beer, Clear golden color with a rich malty after taste.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gregis (1250) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - FEB 29, 2008
Pours a clear pale gold with small, sparce rising bubbles and a dense, frothy, white head that sticks around for quite some time. It eventually diminishes leaving some solid lace. The aroma is skunked, a real shocker for a bright green bottle from a mix-a-six shelf. ;) Once it "airs out", I get a light grainy presence backed by a touch of faint, grassy hops. Light-bodied and thin with soft, fine carbonation-nice for a pale lager-finishing clean and crisp with just a hint of metal. The flavor is a clean and crisp sweet malt front with a lightly grassy hop backing and far less "metal" than I detect in many widely distributed pale lagers. This one’s not too shabby. I like it enough that if I could find another single that has been better protected from light, I’d try it again.
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 idbowman82 (62) - Painesville, Ohio, USA - FEB 23, 2008
If nothing else, it LOOKED good. Clear, Golden and looked like it should be a nice crisp drink. The aroma was a somewhat sweet and quite hoppy. A bit effervescent, but the taste disappointed. Bitter/Sour, with very little hops/malt...but plenty of skunk. Very rarely do I NOT finish a beer that i"m trying for the first time, but about half way through I threw in the towel. Not something I"d recommend. It’s virtually undrinkable to me, but it’s rating is a bit higher than it probably deserves do its appearance and palate.

Tasted 2/8/2008. 12oz bottle. Consumed out of my 1664 500ml glass! Filtered with a golden hue. Lacing white head. Corny grainy cereal aromas. Mild fresh hop nose. Medium to light bodied and crisp. Mildly skunked. Tight effervescence. Sticky and coating. I used to drink this all the time in college, and still find it enjoyable.
