2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
33 cl bottle. Golden pale color with pretty small white head. Nice malty and wheat maybe even some rice in aromas. Neutral nose but all in all good mass lager. Great refreshment.

Smells like rubber tire. I’ve smelled other beer like this and they have been better. Taste is ok.

Fantastic beer I drink as a session. Can drink all day with meals or while watching France lose to Germany, and be reminded of one decent thing the French can brew, even though it pales in comparison to German offerings.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear pale golden with a minimal white head. Sweet grain. Corn. Bread. Vaguely fruity. Mild dryness. Watery. Goes down quick and easy. Ok.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle pour. See through gold. Thin head. No lacing. Nose is lemon grass, straw and some corn. Comes across as sweet. Light body, mostly neutral. Better than expected hop presence: some mild, pleasant, bitterness. You can do a lot worse in this style.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
DATE REVIEWED: June 21, 2014... GLASSWARE: Blanche de Chambly pokal... OCCASION: Willow Lake orientation day...APPEARANCE: cascading bubbles round out a clear golden body; thick white head--exhibits excellent white cloudy lacing... AROMA: fragrant Saaz with soft lemongrass and some wheat yeasts--fresh and energizing (and unexpected)... PALATE: soft, almost creamy champagne-like (unavoidable comparison?) and smooth; light, clean, dry aftertaste... TASTE: a bit maltier than anticipated; refreshing with some fruitiness and honey accents... OVERALLL: a surprisingly strong profile for a beer--a French beer, at that--I had long forgotten since our trip abroad in ’03..this beer poured fresh, presented well, cleansed the palate as a pilsner is apt to do, and offered just enough flavor to elicit a satisfied night....

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Basic enough lager but it meets the bitter/sweet balance quite well. As these sort of beers go it’s one of my preferred ones.
