UPDATED: OCT 27, 2010 Good pale lager, slightly sweet but not overly so. Good crispness and hop character, well balanced. Probably my favourite of the really common lagers found in the UK.

Good beer, seems very much like a dortmunder style, not too sweet, not too bitter on the hops. Good beer overall, better than many standard German Pils.

Pours a one-finger white head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace. Crystal clear amber color. Slight malty nose. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is balanced with some sweetness, nearly clean finish. Part of meal at La Nouvelle Eve Paris, France. 750ml green bottle - best by Aug 2007. Label has ABV at 5.5%.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2003 Bottle. Golden with little head. Hardly any smell. Light taste but some malt to balance the bigger hops of the aftertaste. Nice body. Obviously not the most natural of beers nor the best. But as an easily available macro at a fair price I have no complaints. I'd drink this when not able to get my preffered pilsners/lagers. Re-rated it and expected it to go the same way as so many in the past. Dropping grades. But no, I probably like it better, for what it is, now. Decent, balanced mainstream lager.

The liquid is clear and pale yellow; the large foam is made of big bubbles, it dissolves quickly into a finger thick head.

The smell is pretty strong for a lager. There is a rather simple, sweet flavour of malt and fresh bitter hops, white loaf (from the adjuncts?).

The carbonation is fairly average. Quite fresh…

The taste is rather mild and a bit creamy; the bitterness is low. There are notes of white bread, some diacetyl. The finish is fresh. The short and soft aftertaste got sweetness and some bitter hops.

In other words: Yet another adjunct lager. I’ve seen worse.

500ml can, pale golden yellow hue, good foamy white head, with lacing, fresh floral hay, pale malt and herbal aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with crisp floral hop, hint of bubblegum, sweetish pale malt accent, fruity in a shy hop clean finish.

Draught at the Motley Cow in Iowa City, IA. Clear golden color. Bubbly white head had some staying power and left some spotted lace on the glass. Skunky, sprucy hop aroma with a whiff of malty cereal grain and honey. Grassy flavor accented by malty cereal grain. Dry on the tongue with subdued bitterness.

French : stick to wine, your good at that, leave the beer to people who know what they are doing! Good call. Still better than US domestic tho... at least on tap in Geneve or Nice.
