2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 SimonLarsen (210) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2004
Clear body with a nitro look about it... Not sure this was used as it wasn't quite a nitro looking beer or tap, maybe some variation thereof? Some hop in the aroma, smooth palate (like all nitro's and hence part of the reason I suspect this was a nitro pour), Some fruit and some hop in the flavour but all in all a pretty non interesting beer. I don't personally find this style of palate conducive to a "hot day beer" and this has none of the qualities I'd want in a "cold day beer" so I doubt I'll be paying for this again...

Amber gold. But still pretty pale. Lacey little head. Sudsy soap after 5 minutes. Flat taste. An iota of yeast. Very subtle floral fruit. Watery.

This is better than High Life, but unless it is cheaper than everything else (as it is in Northern France) it isn’t worth your time. Think Becks, Heineken, etc...

Pours a crystal clear yellow that reminds me too much of other unenjoyed recent endeavours. The head is a cream-coloured froth that disappears into a trace of large, spidery bubbles.
The smell is strong on the grassy side, with hints of celery and apple peeping through here and there.
The mouthfeel is average on the carbonation, but seems a bit watery.
The taste is initially honeyed, but watered down, with a metallic bitter finish that doesn’t seem to give its all. A bit of delicate roasted malt is noticed, but over time it wears to become too astringent. Through the glass, the notes become more tart and tangy, but it all adds up to an unlikeable clash. Not bad. Not good. Somewhere in the middle of the beer void...

Drinkable, light yellow body, with a light bitter taste. Nothing great, but does bring back some nice memories.

Clear color and diamond. Compact but evanescente foam. Classic, nothing to signal. Moderate bitter for one light and normal beer.

Had low expectations of this and was pleasantly surprised. No complexity but it’s a decent session lager. Poured a gold colour with a big head. Some buttery malt on the nose, and zesty hops. Creamy palate, light and quenching with a negligible finish. Buttery malt, minimal bitterness. (Bottle)

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2009 Some notes of banana, caramel, pears. Rather sweet. Some hints of apple? Low bitterness. Rerate: 5.5 ABV. Tall creamy head. Sweet sulphury nose. Grainy taste with a hint of marzipan, rice and banana. Very sweet. Nice lacework. Metallic finish. Poor.
