Sampled draught at a Maison Kanter restaurant, Avignon. Good clean Lager. Wholesome, hard malt taste. Strong and crisp, with a hearty orange colour. I had no problems with this.

31st Dec 2010: Small green (25cl) twist top bottle obtained in a pack from Auchen (a huge French supermarket chain) in Calais. Bought for my son and his friends to drink over the Christmas period, I borrowed one to review.
Was slightly suprised by the quality to be honest. The beer was poured into my ’La Chouffe’ stemmed tulip glass.
Good deep amber/gold colour with a white cap of foaming bubbles on top, looked like a typical lager/pilsner.
The smell was grainy, some hops in there too.
The beer was refreshing, crisp, sharp and dry tasting, a mild hop bitterness towards the end of the mouthfeel.
Not bad at all.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Meaty, grainy aroma. Unpleasant, like stinky cheese (beer was out of a can). Low malts and odd hops. Dark ginger ale clear with little head. Medium watery body and weak carb. Weak watery malt and hops, unpleasant bitterness to boot. Another canned drain pour.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft. Clear golden. Fluffy white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma was yeasty and barnyardy. Dry on the tongue with a watery mouth feel. Not much flavor other than watered down malty caramel, light cereal grain, and occasionally some grassy hops.
