2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Quite average look: Clear white creamy head, simple golden body. Light malty weak aroma. Metallic and light bitter flavour, short finish. Too metallic mouthfeel.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2007 This is not a total disaster as the graininess is bearable and there’s the slightes fruity tinge. The sweetness isn’t overbearing, so, as a cheap mass buy, you can permit yourself one or maybe 8 of these, occasionally.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
One of the only decent lagers you can get in Les Menuires. Almost no head at all, not much flavor, a bit like a Heineken but better. A boring lager but nog bad (if bought cheap).

Bring a Pale LAger is its first handicap that I was unable to get over. (I wish I knew what it was when I ordered it) Needless to say, my introduction to French beer was not a welcome one. The head was too thick and the beer was skunky and smelled of cleaning products. Just like other things from france, high in price and low in quality.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
25cl bottle from a grocery store in the French Alps. The mountiains were beautiful. the beer was not. Golden with a fizzy white head. skunky aroma. Bland. Just a generic International lager.

It’s really not that great, just another boring lager really, cost way too much in a paris bar (like Ł4) and wasnt worth a single penny of that. 1664 is a nicer, 1664 blanc is nicer still

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draught. A yellow gold coloured lager with a little whitish head and some lace. The aroma is watery and grassy/glassy. The taste is watery and thin. There is a little malt base but nothing of any significance. Dull and common as muck.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Bottle. 4,2% Pours golden with a white head. Odd aroma; clearly had hops when it was poured, but stuck my nose in the glass and got a sourish, somewhat burnt, unbrewed coffee aroma. Coffee is usually a good thing in the aroma, but not in this case! Flavour is grainy and watery - that’s it. Oh wait - my bad; there are also some plastic notes and rice as it warms. Life’s just too short...

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2006 Very common french blond beer. Not much to say about it. It’s quite watery but refreshing, a metallic aftertaste just like its older sister the "1664".
