COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The best way of celebrating our anniversary was to create a new beer. After 5 years Kross 5 was born. It’s a strong ale that has the peculiarity of being the first Chilean beer matured in oak, as well as being bottled in a unique format. It’s a very versatile beer capable of accompanying different dishes.

0.75 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Dark brown colour with big head. Taste has some hops but mainly spicy malts. Reminds me of Swedish gingerbread (Annas pepparkaka). This could be nice during cold winter nights. Very nice.

taste and aroma are fairly interesting, but not bombastic. Belgian feel. Fairly pleasant and easy drinking, but nothing to talk about.

Pours brown with a small head. Nose shows heavy American oak with big vanilla and creme brulee notes alongside some equally sweet-smelling golden syrup and brown sugar characters. Similarly sweet flavours. Creme brulee, burnt caramel, woody oak, brown sugar, toasted coconut. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Could use more carbonation to help with the sweetness.

Bottle. Pours clear darker mahogny in color with an off-white head. Prunes, dadels and raisins at first in aroma, lots of dark fruits are there. Some dark breadyness as well. The raisins are present as well in the taste, some malty breadyness is there too. A bit of some quite sharp vinous notes appear from time to time. Notes of wooden barrels and very subtle smokey notes in the end. Quite nice, even if it feels a bit light somehow.

Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. A dark brown color with a little but well lasting head. The aroma displays dark, caramel maltiness with raisin and dates - seems fairly sweet. Taste is indeed sweet but not overly; caramel is accompanied by nuts, dark fruity notes and a noticeable note of vanilla, probably due to aging. Maltiness is fairly rich and provides a solid platform for the taste. The palate is medium bodied with a velvety texture and a soft carbonation. First Chilean beer I have had and not bad at all - like an abbey dubbel with some oak aging.

Clear dark brown body, khaki head. Aroma has strong sweet maltiness, raisns, caramelly fruits, bit copper and nuts. Flavour is quite malty and sweet with some bread and fruits. Definitely belgian twist. Some vainilla and rich caramel in flavour. Quite complex without being big beer. I like this.
