TheGrandMaster (2334) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 16, 2008
Bottle (from a NZ bottle store), pours a darkish brown with thin beige head. Aroma has strong roasted malt characteristics, some coffee and caramal, but also some unfortunate vegetable notes. The malty palate is slightly woody, not as roasted as I expected, more burnt. The finish is a bit thin and metallic, but a dry and roasted malt aftertaste is pleasant. Was expecting more, maybe the trip did it no good?

Bottle, thanks Cristián and David! A deep brown and very roasty beer, toasty and burnt, quite dry in flavour with more roast grain, toast and some bitterness coming in for the finish. A well-brewed dry stout, plenty of flavour.
