(.5L bottle dated 5-11 thanks to blutt59) Clear gold with fine light tan bubbles. Nose of sugar, green brush, celery, juniper, weird and sweet smelling. Taste of brown sugar, watery, tiny bit of alcohol, decent linger of caramel and grain.

Das Bier ist goldgelb, die Krone verschwindet schnell. Der Anfang ist weich, im Mittelteil jedoch schmeckt man den Alkohol für mich zu deutlich heraus. Naja. Test vom 23.8.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,7,6,11,8 - 7,70

Bottle… February in Franconia (2011)… Clear golden lager with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma displays honey malts and a medicinal ester with a whisper of spicy, grassy hops. Full-bodied and fairly viscuous with tickling carbonation. Not at all balanced. The flavor is of sweet honey with only a suggestion of grassy hop bitterness. There is some subtle smoke in both the nose and flavor. Crisp, bittersweet, grassy finish. Thanks go out to erlangernick and Koelschtrinker for making this month of Franconian lagers possible!

500ml bottle from Reading BF 2011. Drunk on train on way home listening to New Order. Clear deep gold colour. Thick lasting white head. Some lager puke on aroma. Some creaminess too. Now changed to Nena 99 Red Balloons in the original German as its the only German song I own. Aroma settles down into cereal toast with a touch of honey. Some sweetness on the swallow too. Finish of bitterness is helped by the carbonation. Not hugely fresh according to ths best before. But seemed ok to me. Some hop on end. Some warmth and sructure from the extra abv. Some herb on the finish too. God I live cold lagers. So good. I liked the fullness and earthyness of it. Good. It grew on me
