Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 18, 2009
Draft @ a bar in Erlangen. Dark brown with soapy head. Aroma of butter, cola, and bread. Light palate is slightly oily, slick, and a bit fizzy. Flavors are not so bad, very similar to the aromas with cola, nuts, and bread with sour, oily diacetyl on the palate. Manages to be drinkable in spite of it.

Bottled. Very interesting aroma. A combo you don’t get much: herbal, chocolate, dark slightly smoked malts. Deep brown color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, light sourish, herbal, light bitter, chocolate. Sparkling yet dryish. Very nice, thank you DerDoppelbock.

The bottle looks good, really christmas-like. The beer in the glass also, darker than exspected, huge head. Starts strong and malty, modest roasty, not too dry. A little bit smoky. Also fruity notes of plum. The smoky notes make a wonderful aftertaste. Very drinkable and good beer!
