Very dark amber, medium non tanned head, cloudy. Espresso aroma, slightly grassy. Tasted espreso, bourbon and malt. Medium carbonation, smooth, medium body. Not what I expected, from the label I thought I was buying a Helles lager, first sip was more like a Schwarzbier, it also had some Stout like characteristics, a pleasant surprise.

0,5l bottle. The label says Lager. Well it pours brown with reddish hue, off white foamy head and clear. Aromas are roasted malts, some grass and basement. Palate is thin watery , with flat carbonation. Mouthfeel is medium full. Taste is metallic, cardboard, roasted malts and sweeteners, with dirty dry lag on the tongue. Overall pretty mild, flat and boring Dunkel/Lager/whatever.

Test vom 22.3.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,5,5,5,11,5 - 6,00

Pours a clear brownish color with a fizzy tan head that quickly disappears to nothing at all. Smells of rich dark malt, caramel, dark bread, a bit nutty. the taste echoes the nose finishing nicely dry. A little oily with crisp carbonation on the plus side of light. Overall a tasty brew that I would love to try on tap.

Bottle from Fränkische Botschaft, Berlin. Pours clear dark amber with a small creamy light tanned head. Aroma is good malty, dark bread, caramel and grassy hops. Taste is also malty, full of hayish notes with a light roasty feel at the end, not bad at all.

courtesy of fiulijn - clear dark ruby-brown beer with a poor chaotic foam left; the aroma is meaty and slightly sourish; medium-bodied and tart; some biting bitterness and an earthy, meat-like finish - weird
