Bottle at Son of Sid Brewery, The Chequers, Little Gransden, Cambs’ 1st Beer Festival on 02-10-09 Pours conker brown, its pretty clear and there is a white head. The aroma is a mostly malty but there is a touch of smokiness with just a hint of meatiness. Its soft in the mouth, even a little bit of a perfumey feel, the maltiness shows again, tasting stronger that it actually is with a good malty backbone. Nice stuff. A8 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.6

A Mes rate. Bottle from Quinns.
Copper coloured with a decent white head. Just about the darkest thing I’ve ever seen called a lager. Rather sickly malt with a little too much grainy character. Faint hops and cardboard in the finish. Uneventful but drinkable.

5l mini cask from Bierzwerg Clear brown colour with a golden glow, large and creamy beige head. Medium-bodied with a solid malty base, roasted malts, caramel, oak wood, dust, a touch of smoke and damp cellar favours are detectable. Fine finish with a woody-sour touch.

Golden brown. Toasty nose with light toffee notes and a very subtle spiciness. Tasty but dry palate. Hints of chocolate and light cocoa. A little thin in the finish, as many Franconian darks are.

Draft @ Franconian beer festival. Deep dark brown with red tint. Thick white head. Great fresh malty aroma. Dry chalky mouthfeel. Moderately husky flavors are nice and dry. Solid, very nice.

(bottle, nowadays just labeled as Lager) Clear, mahogany colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Sweet roasted malty aroma with distinctive notes of chocolate, toffee and a light herbal hoppy spots. Sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roast-malty taste with caramel and milk chocolate; sweet and light-bitter roasty finish with a lasting aftertaste. Very good Dunkel (28.07.08).

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 2, 2008
Dark coppery colored with medium sized light brown head. Sweet caramelly and chocolaty aroma with fine hops and some grainy earthy tone. Medium bodied, somehow sticky palate. Flavor is also sweet with chocolate, still some yeasty-flowery-vegetably note here, it actually fits here well. That flavor lasts in drying aftertaste. Good beer.

Bottle from derdopplebock? Pours amber brown, looks like a brown ale, very nice. Aroma is nutty, balanced with peppery hop. Taste is a similar bag with hints of toffee and lemon, exstremly well balanced and drinkable.

MiP (13513) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2008
Bottle, 5% as Krug-Bräu Lager. Very weak spicy aroma. Clear brown colour. Nice, frothy tan head. The flavour is slightly malty, but does not taste very "dark", not sweet or roasted, that is. Slightly buttery aftertaste, turning weakly smoked after a while. Watery mouthfeel and thin flavour. High carbonation.
