3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle@Pilsbar Franco, Erlangen. Dark for a lager, sort of a pale mahogany. Lightly perfumy aroma, with some pigfarm aromas. Nutty malts and also quite fruity ( i was having a tough time pinning this down). Lovely earthy hops, slightly grassy. Very nice drinking. Maybe it was because i was a little thirsty, but this was really pleasant.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ahh, memories from two years ago...Bottle. Aroma of nut, dark malts, and dark chocolate with a little barnyark funk / veggies...touch of bread and popcorn. Dark nut brown / dark copper pour with a sticky, lacing beige head. Creamy crisp taste with all of the above included. Toasted nutty choco veggie. Light flowery sweetness balanced by hops. Mild, with light end-bitterness. Nice and malty, nice and rural.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
An amber beer with a light brown head. I don’t like the aroma, I find notes of vegetables and stale water. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of vegetables as well as notes of straw and caramel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Any first impressions?
-A sumptuous head stands atop the translucent bronze/brown, drawing some nifty lacing.
-Dark chocolate and grassy hops stimulate the nostrils.
-The clean, nutty, chocolatey maltiness is like a Franconian take on English Brown Ales.
-The finishing, soft wooden hop bitterness is intelligently linked to dark chocolate sweetness.
What if you dig deeper?
-A wonderfully smooth body is developed by the superbly extracted maltiness; what else could you expect from the wise Franconians?
-Dry wood surfaces in the aroma.
-The bready, toasted malt complexity is fascinating.
-Close to a dunkel in style, but this is just another Franconian lager beauty.
Bottle; best before November ’06.

1.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Dark amber colour with a big tan head. Pissoir aroma and a malty, light grainy taste. Medium body with a light dry finish. This is the most horibal aroma ever for a beer, or a pissoir.
