3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from "Sörspecialista", Budapest.
Shows a clear and dark brown, the nice and laceing head is off-white,, which remains filmy on the top, carbonation’s average.
Smell of yeast and light toffee.
Crisp start, flavour’s toasty/toffee.
The middle is first of all yeasty with caramell and spicy/grassy aromas in the back.
The finish is spicy and dry. That follows a good aftertaste.
Good drinkable, medium bodied brew, overall not bad...

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Really cool old-school 50cl bottle. Dark chestnut, pale big bubbled head. Manure like nose, little sour cherries, springtime earth. Flavor has little roast, syrupiness, little funk, overdone popcorn, herbal bitterness with faint raisins. Almost medium bodied, soft mouthfilling carbonation. Strangely this intrigues my country boy heart.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Son of Sid Brewery, The Chequers, Little Gransden, Cambs’ 1st Beer Festival on 02-10-09 Pours conker brown, its pretty clear and there is a white head. The aroma is a mostly malty but there is a touch of smokiness with just a hint of meatiness. Its soft in the mouth, even a little bit of a perfumey feel, the maltiness shows again, tasting stronger that it actually is with a good malty backbone. Nice stuff. A8 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.6

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A Mes rate. Bottle from Quinns.
Copper coloured with a decent white head. Just about the darkest thing I’ve ever seen called a lager. Rather sickly malt with a little too much grainy character. Faint hops and cardboard in the finish. Uneventful but drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden brown. Toasty nose with light toffee notes and a very subtle spiciness. Tasty but dry palate. Hints of chocolate and light cocoa. A little thin in the finish, as many Franconian darks are.
